    Description:
This folding knife was made by South African knifemaker Herucus Blomerus. A resident of Pretoria, Herucus (pronounced 'eh-roo-koos') has been a proud member of the South African Knifemakers Guild since 2005.
The drop point N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for easy, quick touchups.
The blade is easily opened by using the ambidextrous flipper mechanism. It is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed for balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create smooth action with no blade play.
Burgundy linen Micarta handle scales meet perfectly to textured zirconium bolsters. The textured, heat colored zirconium bolsters provide a steadfast grip that is also very beautiful. Zirconium is a transitional metal that is primarily mined in South Africa and Australia. It is resistant to corrosion and scratching. Fileworked titanium liners are anodized bronze. The handle is completed with an anodized, machined titanium pocket clip mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry. A ceramic ball held in the pocket clip makes it particularly easy to use.
This folder is a classy and refined piece, unique and not ostentatious. Ricus is clearly a maker to keep an eye out for - exceptional fit and finish throughout!
